How to Install Brave Browser on Ubuntu / Fedora / Rocky Linux & Manjaro Linux

Brave is a free and open-source web browser designed by the Brave team and it is based on chromium.

Brave Browser comes with default AD blocker and blocks all type of ads from every website and it also has multiple extensions available from chrome web store and can be added to it.

This tutorial will be helpful for beginners to install brave browser on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS , Ubuntu 21.10 , Rocky Linux 8 , Fedora 35 and Manjaro Linux.

It has numerous features over Chrome, Firefox and Safari browsers.

Install Brave Browser on Ubuntu

Step 1: Update the system repository

sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade

Step 2: Install the dependencies

sudo apt install apt-transport-https curl

Step 3: Add the Brave Browser GPG key

sudo curl -fsSLo /usr/share/keyrings/brave-browser-archive-keyring.gpg https://brave-browser-apt-release.s3.brave.com/brave-browser-archive-keyring.gpg

Step 4: Add the Brave Browser repository to the system

echo "deb [signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/brave-browser-archive-keyring.gpg arch=amd64] https://brave-browser-apt-release.s3.brave.com/ stable main"|sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/brave-browser-release.list

Step 5: Update and Install the Brave Browser

sudo apt update && sudo apt install brave-browser

Step 6: Launch the browser from the list of programs

Install Brave Browser on Rocky Linux 8 / Fedora 35

Step 1: Install the DNF plugins core package

sudo dnf install dnf-plugins-core

Step 2: Add the Brave Repository to the server

sudo dnf config-manager --add-repo https://brave-browser-rpm-release.s3.brave.com/x86_64/

Step 3: Import the Brave repository key.

sudo rpm --import https://brave-browser-rpm-release.s3.brave.com/brave-core.asc

Step 4: Install the Brave browser in Rocky Linux / Fedora

sudo dnf install brave-browser

Install Brave Browser on Manjaro Linux

Step 1: Install the snap package in Manjaro Linux

sudo pacman -S snapd

Step 2: Enable the Snapd process and enable classic snap support

sudo systemctl enable --now snapd.socket && sudo ln -s /var/lib/snapd/snap /snap

Setp 3: Install Brave Browser in Manjaro

sudo snap install brave
