Install gscan2pdf 2.11.0 in Ubuntu / Linux Mmint

gscan2pdf a GUI tool used to produce PDF’s or DjVus from Scanned documents,gscan2pdf works on all Linux / BSD machines

gscan2pdf team released a newer version 2.11.0 recently and yet to be updated in official Jeffrey Ratcliffe PPA for Ubuntu 20.04 and lower versions.

This tutorial will be helpful for beginners to install gscan2pdf 2.11.0 in Ubuntu 20.10, Ubuntu 20.04, Linux Mint 20.1, and lower versions of Ubuntu and Linux Mint.

How to Install gscan2pdf 2.11.0 in Ubuntu / Linux Mint

2 ways to install it on Linux

  • Via .deb file
  • Via Official PPA
Method 1: Via .Deb file

Step 1: Download the deb file from the Sourceforge site or use the below command

wget https://sourceforge.net/projects/gscan2pdf/files/gscan2pdf/2.11.0/gscan2pdf_2.11.0-1_all.deb

Step 2: Install the gscan2pdf deb file

dpkg -i gscan2pdf_2.11.0-1_all.deb

Method 2: Via Official PPA

Step 1: Add the official PPA

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:jeffreyratcliffe/ppa

Step 2: Update the repository

sudo apt update

Step 3: Install gscan2pdf 2.11.0

sudo apt install gscan2pdf

How to Remove gscan2pdf 

For removing run the below command

sudo apt-get remove –autoremove gscan2pdf
