This tutorial will be helpful for the beginners who want to upgrade Fedora 31 to Fedora 32.
we can upgrade to Fedora 32 using 2 methods
- Using Graphical upgrade method
- Using the Command-line method
Upgrade Fedora 31 to Fedora 32
Method 1: Graphical Method
- Launch the GNOME Software app
- Select the “Check for updates” tab in GNOME software
- A screen will inform you that Fedora 32 is available, if not please wait for some time and recheck for updates
- Click on “Download” to fetch the new packages and the process will run in the background
- Once the download completes, reboot the system and let it upgrade and after that, it will boot into Fedora 32
Method 2: Via Command Line
Step 1: Backup your data and disable the third-party repositories
Step 2: Make sure the system is up to date
Before proceeding to upgrade to Fedora 32 update your installed softwares in Fedora 31
Step 3: Install the DNF Plugin
Step 4: Start the update
Execute the below command to start the upgrade process and add the flag –allowerasing if you face any broken dependencies or retired packages.
Step 5: Reboot and Upgrade
Once the previous command completed execute the below command
Your system will restart after the command execution and upgrade will start and take some time to complete and after that the system will be booted into Fedora 32
